Blue control is a blue light filter built into the material of your optical lenses to neutralise blue light emitted by LCD and LED screens as well as other digital devices, fluorescent and LED light globes. This helps prevent eye fatigue and eye strain caused by exposure to blue light—especially from use of digital devices. If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer, blue control lenses are a fantastic choice as they offer more comfortable vision and better contrast perception. WHAT IS BLUE LIGHT?
Blue light is a naturally occurring light which sits on the UV spectrum. As this light is emitted from the sun, we have evolved to align our sleep/wake cycles to the stimulus from this light. Blue light is also emitted from electronic devices such as flat-screen televisions, monitors, laptops, tablets and smartphones as well as LED and fluorescent globes. That’s why you might find yourself having difficulty falling asleep after using your tablet or computer late at night. Many people also suffer from red and irritated eyes, eye fatigue, headaches, blurry vision and even sleeplessness during or after using digital equipment.
